Emerald Palace Kempinski (Raffles) – Palm JumeirahBeach Profiling & Nourishment works
Raffles Resort palm Jumeirah, formerly known as Emerald Palace Kempinski, was developed with the aim to become the new ultra-luxury destination of Dubai.
The Resort opened its doors in early 2018 as Emerald Palace, however, after the year 2020, it changed to Raffles Resort. The ultra-luxury resort is located on the western crescent of Palm Jumeirah overlooking the internal fronds of the palm-shaped island.
challenge
During the construction of the hotel, the beach area was used as a stockpile area for machinery and construction materials. The existing beach was highly contaminated and was not suitable for beach-goers. The high standards of Emerald Palace, required the highest quality washed beach sand to be used on the beach as dress fill.
solution
BHMK was contacted by the sub-contractor of the project ‘ EcoCoast Marine Contracting ‘ as the sand supplier for the project. After choosing several samples for the client, eventually, suitable sand was found and we provided the sand washing and filtering as well as transportation of 3400 cubic meters of sand to the site within 10 days.
results
The project took place in June 2018. After the sand was delivered to the site, using Bulldozers, wheel loaders, and beach cleaning machines, the beach was completely refurbished and became ready for the grand opening of the new iconic destination in Dubai.
