Anantara Resort in Palm Jumeirah Dubai is the first major resort of this major Thai chain of hotels in Dubai. The hotel has several villas overlooking the lagoon pools as well as villas built on piers over the water.

The resort has a large beach area that faces the Palm Island fronds.

Anantara the Palm Dubai is one of the most iconic hotels in Dubai. The hotel has one of the highest occupancy rates year-round. The beach area is subject to a very high foot traffic as well as seasonal tidal movements. On both sides of the beach there are piers constructed that make access of any sort of beach cleaning machine almost impossible. Every few years. the beach requires a complete clean-up and import of fresh batch of high-quality dress fill sand for general up-keep and nourishment of the beach area.

solution

BHMK was appointed as the marine sub-contractor for the project. Analysis of the existing topography survey was conducted. New samples of washed beach sand were submitted for the client’s approval and a new proposed beach crest and profile were designed and submitted to D.M. for approval.

More than 2000 Cubic Meters of Washed Beach sand were delivered to the site from both sides. During the course of the project, the beach area was accessible by the guests with minimum inconvenience.

Upon approval of the submitted drawings, the work commenced in August 2018.

results

The project took place in the summer of 2018 when the hotel occupancy rate was at the minimum. We completely renovated the beach.

The new sand is whiter more uniform in shape and free from any contaminant.

The beach’s new profile curve is more suitable for the beachgoers and the relative elevation of the hardscape area of the resort till the HAT line of the water.
